6D Announces latest products released

6D Tech, Inc. announces the release of Project Catalyst 7.1 for  Microsoft Office Project 2007.
 
PHOENIX – September 16, 2009 -- 6D Tech, Inc. today announced the release of Project Catalyst 7.1 for Microsoft Office Project 2007 products including software products that allow users to build, manage and distribute methodologies along with two commercial methodologies. 6D also provided guidance for its Catalyst suite version 8 products for Microsoft Project 2010. Beta versions of the Catalyst product will be available in the last quarter of 2009 with the RTM to be closely aligned with the Microsoft Office Project 2010 release:
  • Project Catalyst Desktop (version 7.1) that is fully integrated inside Office Project Professional 2007 and Office Project Standard
  • Project Catalyst Server EPM (version 7.1) that is fully integrated inside Office Project Server 2007 and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 environments
  • Rapid Project Management Methodology (RPMM): A PMBOK® compliant methodology that includes all task descriptions, roles and responsibilities and document templates
  • Rapid Six Sigma Methodology (RSSM): A complete methodology that covers all the tasks needed for a Six Sigma DMAIC project including tools and templates
 
While announcing the latest release of these products, Piyush Srivastava, President of 6D said, “6D’s customers can now accelerate their deployment of Office Project 2007 and Six Sigma processes and enjoy the benefits of project management, repeatability and predictability. For the first time, Office Project 2007 users can use the Desktop version to build and customize their methodology assets and easily integrate with their Server versions. This opens up a whole new opportunity for Desktop users, consultants and workgroups in organizations in terms of portability – now they can build methods in a disconnected environment and then integrate them with their customers’ existing environment on Project Server 2007.”
 

Seth Patton, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Project Management at Microsoft noted that 6D “has continued to utilize the integration facilities built into Microsoft Office products in providing seamless methodology capabilities within Project 2007 products.” He added, “6D’s new Desktop product can allow a larger number of Project 2007 users to streamline and deploy their methodologies”.
