Methodology and Process Management principles are important to ensure that all stakeholders have a common understanding of the approach the teams/organization will be taking to complete projects. This not only includes the tasks and the order in which they will be performed, but also includes roles and responsibilities of the stakeholders in performing the tasks.
The advantages of reusable processes and standardized deliverables cannot be overstated in terms of improving quality and reducing rework. The classes included in Methodology and Process Management Training use the 6D Solutions Framework methodology and the 6D Project Management Methodology as examples to provide students with a full picture of how methods are used to accelerate, manage, control and deliver projects.
6D Tech has learned over the years that the methodology must be simple in structure and easy to read and navigate. These principles are discussed and practiced in our courses.
Project Management Methodology: Lecture & Workshop 2 Days
This course covers the concepts and basic principles included in the 6D Project Management Methodology. The phases, tasks, roles and responsibilities and major deliverables are discussed. Students understand how major Project deliverables are constructed over many tasks. For example, a Project Plan consists of a number of smaller deliverables that must be completed by many individuals over several tasks.
Audience: Project Managers, Methodologists, Team Leaders, PMO and SEPG staff
Developing a Project Management Methodology: Lecture & Workshop 2 Days
This course covers the concepts and principles of developing a Project and Process Management based methodology based on the five process groups and nine knowledge areas of PMI’s PMBOK. It covers the principles, architecture and structures necessary for development, deployment and continuous improvement of Project Management processes – process guidance, policy, standards, roles, responsibilities and deliverables definitions. The phases, tasks, roles and responsibilities and major deliverables of the Project Management Methodology are discussed. These are mapped to the requirements of PMI's PMBOK® Guide so that students get a clear understanding of how they can tailor PM lifecycles to meet their organization's culture and requirement.
Audience: Project Managers, Methodologists, Team Leaders, PMO and SEPG staff
Methodology for Methods Development: Lecture & Workshop 2 Days
This course covers the principles, architecture and structures necessary for development of methodologies (SDLCs)- process, policy, standards, roles, responsibilities and deliverables definitions. It uses the concepts and basic principles of Project and Process Management including the nine knowledge areas of PMI’s PMBOK® Guide to understand how to build methods that will add value for the users and meet compliance requirements for standards such as CMM/CMMi, PMI, PRINCE, ISO, etc.
Audience: Project Managers, Methodologists, Team Leaders, PMO and SEPG staff
6D Solutions Framework Overview: Lecture & Workshop 2 Days
This course is for information systems managers, users, development project leaders and team members who need to apply a thorough understanding of the 6D Solutions Framework methodology to systems development projects. Participants will learn, for each phase of system development, the main purpose of the phase, division into subphases and the tasks involved. The course also covers roles, responsibilities and major deliverables of the methodology. A framework for customizing methodologies is discussed and a sample methodology is customized to emphasize the importance and use of common components and processes across the different lifecycles.
Audience: Project Managers, Methodologists, Team Leaders, PMO and SEPG staff
Introduction to Methodologies: Lecture 1 Day
