Catalyst Desktop's Process Asset Library (PAL) capability allows you the flexibility of building your Best Practice assets in a manner that best suits your organization and budget. You can either purchase off-the-shelf Best Practices from 6D Tech or another vendor or build the knowledge base that reflects the best practices of your organization. Catalyst Desktop enables you to create project based methodologies either by defining them from scratch or by simply selecting all or parts of the Best Practices lifecycles - processes from the PAL.  Users can edit, move blocks of information, or add lessons learned easily.

The Product tour walks you through the product and also has a short overview section. The product tour shows you how you can add knowledge content to your existing project WBS and how you can quickly build a set of reusable process kernels or full methodologies. Also, pay particular attention to copying processes from a library template to your project. This accelerates your project planning process by allowing you to assemble standard set of processes to build your project WBS. And the wonderful thing is that, as you assemble these processes, all the methodology content is made available to the project - no need to browse a generic enterprise methodology - your project methodology is now available directly inside Microsoft Project.
